Origin: Northern California

Character: A highly figured wood, dramatic in contrast of coloring ranging from a creamy light brown to a deep chocolate brown. The curling effect in the figuring is dynamic with tight spiraling swirls throughout the grain.

Working Properties: Finishes to a hard, smooth surface. Take polishes & turnings well.

Uses: Fine furniture, cabinetry, boxes, specialty items, decorative veneer, sculptures, turnings, table tops.
