Latin Name: Olea europaea
Origin: Italy/ France
Character: A highly figured wood very close grained and fine textured. Ranges in color from light golden beige to golden yellow, to light amber brown. Fine marbled veins mark the wood in ranges of color from dark brown, to deep olive black with swirls, ribbons, stripes and markings. French olive has a gold rose cast; Italian olive a gold green cast.

Uses: Cabinetry, fine furniture, boxes, and handles of all sorts, specialty items, turnery, table tops, and kitchen items.
