Catalog July 30, 2007
We list special exotic hardwoods and veneers. Semi-precious stones from Russia and other selected countries are available by request. To the best of our knowledge we obtain our wood from countries with reforestation policies. Our current stock of wood is in our Baltimore, MD, warehouse. Our exotic wood is air dried to the moisture coefficient of this area, 9% to 11%. Some thicknesses may very.
We have traveled to a number of our suppliers bases around the world in search of the finest timbers. Indians in the country of origin cut a number of our species. The Amerasian in Guyana and the Negroes in Suriname are two such groups. They use the forest as their home, and are very selective in their choices. We are very much aware of the existing rainforest situation and will continue to do as much as possible to raise the consciousness of global awareness.
Stars Art and Design can provide much more than a choice of the world's decorative hardwood. If you require a beautiful hard and solid wood, well seasoned and well kept, Stars can supply you. Our timber produces extremely smooth surfaces, and polishes exceptionally well. We can match a kaleidoscope of different colors from rich dark chocolate and deep purple to warm golden ivory and creamy beige. Our timber has dark and light stripes, simulated metal flakes, and iridescent grain. Whatever your specialty, we can provide the most suitable hardwood for your project. Add value and prestige to your production with our hardwood.
We are a design firm using the wood in this list for our projects. The timber listed is from the many beautiful design projects we have done in the past. In a number of instances we traveled to the country of origin and hand picked trees for our projects, in the jungle timber camps, for figure and color.
We have gathered our collection of wood from many sources worldwide. Some of the species at Stars are not readily available in the marketplace, which make it special. Our inventory of tabletop Slabs is unsurpassed. The experience Stars has gained in working with exotic wood and other material is invaluable. This information is available as a tool that can help project savings and production. We will be happy to show pictures of our projects showing the fine workmanship and finishes possible.
The following are some notes on our price list and ordering procedures. Prices do not include shipping, handling or sales taxes were applicable.
